One of my favorite things in the world is home made bread fresh from the oven... give this Irish gal garlic and potatoes on top of it, and I'm just about in heaven!
I got the recipe for this very easy bread from HERE, but as usual, I made a few changes!
I don't have a bread machine anymore, since most of my breads are baked in the oven. Since this was a bread machine recipe I had to alter a few of the preparation steps. I also used a heaping tablespoon of minced garlic instead of garlic powder.
After mixing all the ingredients together, I kneaded for 5 full minutes. Then I let the bread rise for an hour in a warm place. Then I kneaded again, and let it rise another 30 minutes. I punched down the dough and separated it into two balls. Then I baked them (together) at 375* for 25 minutes.
Next time I might leave it in an extra 5 minutes to dry out the center a bit more.
I am also going to try brushing it with egg whites to really make the top shine and turn a nice golden brown.
YUM!
Ohhhh That bread looks and sounds delicious!!!

Yum! I have a bread machine that I haven't used all year. I may have to bring it out to try this recipe. Thanks!

Yum! I think I will try this in my bread machine. My DH & I both have colds so some warm home-made bread sounds good...
