~The smell of coffee on a chilly day.

~Never having to get out of my PJ's unless I want to, when I'm at home.
~Waking up to the smiles on my girls' faces
~Going to bed with the warm, comforting arms of my husband around me.
~The smell of soap.
~Soft chewy bread with a crunchy, flaky top as it comes fresh out of the oven.
~Learning new skills, techniques, and traditions that have served our homes and families for generations.
~The light that comes in from the north facing window by my desk.
~Trying to emulate my mom in my own parenting every day.
~Warm, soaky bubble baths with a good book in hand.
~Seeing permanent positive changes in the way my home looks.
~Knitting to the sounds of a good audio book.
~Flipping through the season's new seed catalogs and planning out my vegetable gardens.
~Spending a few moments each day seeking inspiration on blogs, flickr, and ravelry.
~Watching items come to life using nothing but my hands, my sewing machine, and some fabric.
~Writing in my journal in cursive.
~The feeling of a new beginning after the rain.
~The excitement of plans yet to come.
~Seeing the look of comfort and contentment when my husband comes into our home after a long day.
~The warmth of my dogs as they sleep at my feet, and the soft silky fur of my kitty on my pillow every night.
~The lines that the vacuum makes on the carpet
~The way the light shines through the ancient mason jar that used to belong to my grandmother as it sits on my kitchen windowsill.
~The click-clack of wooden needles as I knit
~The womb-like feeling of wrapping up in my favorite tattered comforter
~Knowing that my job as a homemaker makes a real difference in our lives, and finding value, self-respect, and contentment in that.
That is awesome! Very vivid images of "hominess" in my head. Many of those things are things I love, too. :)
